Pics of Primero Prospero born  August 2nd! an early birthday present for my wonderful husband Martin who did all the mucky jobs during the foaling like putting the placenta in a bucket!  yes i know, yuck. (has to be saved though for vet to check for tears and incompletions) - both doing well -  Welcome Prospero and may you have a happy live in the sun, bringing your heritage and personality to the foundation and development of PFs in Southern Spain - we welcome you into our lives and our hearts as a foundation stallion for the future... we love it when people visit the foals and see them gaiting and this little chap will make some jaws drop - he is already gaiting constantly at a few hours old.

the Amadeus bloodlines but most importantly Cleopatras ancient bloodlines have made a magic mix.....a breeding we will be repeating - and remember if you have an older mare its best to keep her in foal as long as she is happy and healthy (follow your vets advice) - this way their 'machinery' keeps working and they love being mumma..... thank you again Cleopatra - we rang Caroline of Rocabo to let her know - sadly Caroline is extremely ill and it was a joy to let her know that 'her' adored Cleopatra is so happy and productive!

Please click on the thumbnails to enlarge  This is the lovely Stef - 'wife' of our vet Alonso - Stef is a very experienced horsewoman and deals with behavioural problems in horses; she is sitting on the wall of El Chozo our local tapas bar where everyone hangs out - you can just see the glorious Andalucian mountains in the background!  This day was a special Ferria day where all the men in the town gather on their gorgeous horses (we are impressed by how well they are all kept and behave) and they ride throughout the village, stopping to chat to everyone; naturally a bit of alcohol is involved but the local Guarda Civil are fine about it!  There were at least 20 andaluz horses here on this day and it was fun to sit and have a really good cup of coffee and watch everyone riding and chatting. Horses have a great life here as they actually DO something and dont just phaff about in an arena - we all go out for long rides (usually in the morning when its really cool) and then the horses can relax. Stef won the recent major endurance ride here on her mare, and Stef has Latigo with her as a companion horse - so he is back enjoying the Spanish sun.... come visit

Arriving in Spain!   Tired and Dusty but safe and sound - the first Paso Finos on andalusian soil for centuries!  We should have had champagne but cool water was more appreciated..... they were all so good and our beloved Cleopatra travelled safely with her foal in utero; Cleopatra was already unloaded and safe and Padrino in Ireland (where maybe it wasnt so hot!)
